There are four guestrooms. Each room’s door has a lock, and all rooms are furnished and carpeted. Linens and towels are included. Each room has a full-size bed, a desk with a chair, a closet and a television set with a DVD player and 70 channels of cable TV. High-speed wireless Internet access (802.11g) is included, too!

Guests also have use of the fully-equipped kitchen with their own space for food, a washer and dryer in the basement, and a living room with a 54-inch HDTV, VCR and DVD player.

What’s in the neighborhood
The Guesthouse is a short walk from the Hawthorne neighborhood, a popular and unique district with lots of shopping, services, entertainment and dining.

Safeway, about 18 blocks east of the house at 27th & Hawthorne, is the nearest grocery store. The large Fred Meyer at 39th & Hawthorne offers one-stop shopping for most everything you need. Both Safeway and Fred Meyer have a pharmacy.

A major post office, the East Portland Station, is 6 blocks west of the house. There are several ATMs and banks within walking distance. Fun destinations nearby include the Bagdad Theatre and the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.

By public transit
Coming from the airport? Buy an “All Zone” fare at the airport MAX station. Ride the MAX to the “Lloyd Center” station, then walk across the street to Holladay & 11th and transfer onto a Bus 70 going south. Get off the bus at 11th & Belmont, walk two blocks east and three blocks south and you’re here!

By car
There’s good on-street parking right next to the Guesthouse. Driving from the Guesthouse to downtown takes less than 5 minutes; PSU about 10 minutes; OHSU about 15 minutes; and Portland International Airport (PDX) about 20 minutes.

By bicycle
The Guesthouse is in a bicycle-friendly area. There is space in the foyer to store your bike.

By public transit
The Guesthouse is very close to bus stops for 3 different Tri-Met bus lines: the 14 (Hawthorne) and the 15 (Belmont) (which are both Frequent Service lines) and the 70 (12th Avenue). The 70 runs north-south; the 14 and 15 run east-west. The 14 and 15 go downtown; all three lines can take you to a MAX light rail station.
